Project History

The project started in 2017 by Stefanie Janine Stölting while working onside at customer in a small city with nothind to do on evenings in a hotel.

Functions and views are based on long time working with PostgreSQL. Over time it became more and more features.

GitHub became the home of the repositories.

PGXN

One feature included to create packages for PGXN, the first one was released on 2018-05-30.

GitHub

In 2018 Microsoft bought GitHub. Fearing for the worst based on a lot of Microsoft experience, the repositories became a new home on GitLab.

The repositories have been mirrord to GitHub.

Leaving GitHub

In 2025 the then CEO of GitHub gave an inteverview that ended in the decesion to leave GitHub, for details please read the blog post by Stefanie about it.

Codeberg

Codeberg became new repository home. But this time not as personal repository, but as a project at codeberg.org/pgsql_tweaks.

Websites

First the project pgsql-tweaks domain has been bought funded by ProOpenSource OÜ. The basis of the HTML file was the generated HTML file from the extension.

That got replaced by this site, that is based on Jekyll.

In addition a subdomain was created to host the documentation of the extension, rtfm.pgsql-tweaks.org, an abreviation for Read the Fine Manual.

And as a project, a logo was needed, for details please read The Logo.
